Lame Service Tech

I called my service tech about my up comming oil change. I told him I wanted to use 5w-30, and he immidietly told me how it wasnt good for the engine. I told him I dont care and I want to use it, and if I would have to bring my own oil in. He kept telling me how it as bad, and wouldnt say anything else. Any ideas how I can get him to use what I want

Bring your own oil
Hover around the service bay and make sure they use it

I had to do the same thing.
THey pulled that hose down that dangles from the ceiling, you know the one filled with the wrong oil.
I had to stop them before filling it up

BTW - I see an oil debate starting from this thread

Old Rotor posted this the other day. Seems like a good quote to find and show them.

"Engine oil viscosity, or thickness, has an

Low-viscosity engine oils can provide

But high-temperature weather conditions
require higher-viscosity engine oils for
satisfactory lubrication"

Good advice too lol. I have a Bob Penkhus dealership like 1 minute walking from my place, so it's convenient for me to let them do it. They charge me $10 labor. I bring in the filter & oil of my choice (which was 10w30 synthetic this summer)
