Just realizing how horrible the RENESIS is..

First things first: owning a Miata doesn't make you gay. Being in a relationship with someone of the same sex makes you gay. And on top of that, there's a sizable population of people for whom that isn't even an insult. (Seriously, are you 16?)
I cross-shopped the new 5.0 Mustang against the 8. And here I am. The Mustang has loose steering, feels like it weighs every one of those 3500+ pounds, and has a rear axle that was perfected in 1973. It does go horrifically fast in a straight line, and sounds amazing while doing so.
But guess what? That's not important to me. Is it to you? Apparently so. You're in the best possible car that you could be in. Will I mock your plastic fantastic cartoon car when I see it on the road? Absolutely. Will you laugh at my torqueless monster? Go ahead. But I bought a brand new automobile with a handling dynamic that isn't matched until you've spent over twice it's price. And that is important to me. Because while you might live in the hellish bowels of Michigan with your miles of potholed straight-as-an-arrow roads and permafrost, I live at the base of a mountain range with some of the finest driving roads the world has ever known.
I've owned muscle cars and I've owned driving cars. I don't try to impress people by stepping on a plastic pedal really hard anymore, so my muscle car days are over.

ya a 16 year old with a 520HP camaro. need a vid for proof? cause i have plenty. i am not very old but not 16 . i hate michigan and wish i lived with nice roads. there is no debating that. go to a car meet and talk to people with real cars and see what they have to say about a mazda mitia. the rx8 at least looks nice.
And quite honestly, and this is the point that you keep missing, is that what other people think of various cars should have ZERO bearing on anything. A bunch of "car meet people" where you live hate the Miata? Good for them. They can keep sitting in their lawn chairs next to a car that's trailered more often than driven. I can understand why they wouldn't like a car that's actually tailored to driving.

You buying one just means you have more money than sense, in my opinion.

i owned a 2009 rx8 r3 and i think about the car everyday. thats why i am on these forums. and even if i get ban from this i will still come here and see what people are doing. i love the rx8. but i get so pissed that the car drives and looks soo dam good but yet is slower than a 370z or 350z or STI. thats why i had to sell it. i swear if i would win the lotto i would buy the same one i had with a z06 corvette. my point is that the car lacks. thats all.
FYI i joined back in 2009 so i have been here, but only recently started to post because i am venting on a car i love so much but had to give up.

This thread is freaking epic. so does rx8r3mike.
lemme summarized it up :
- if it does not have high hp/high tq the owner is automatically gay
- the best selling sports car in America looks like ****.
- car meet people are "people with real cars," since they have real cars they must know everything and "mitia" is a pos as they call it.
- mpg rating from the 70s-90s is the same as it is today.
here is what I have to say, just watch the whole damn thing, 1 minute 16 seconds only :

This thread got awesome.
rx8r3mike. You have a lot of growing up to do and a lot to learn. Mostly you need to learn the difference between fact and fiction.
If you were really concerned with a fast straight line car, you'd ditch the SS and buy and old Fox Body LX mustang with a 5.0 and start from there. For about $10k including the price of the car you could walk your SS in the 1320.
Viper is loved? Really? The best? The only people that love vipers are the tards that invested $95k (or more) in a car that has the worst build quality I've ever seen, that's twitchy, hard to drive, and out classed by everything within. $20k of it's price tag. By love, i mean justify. Last one i saw was in China Beach at Mid Ohio. It's a popular place for the Viper guys. You should look it up. I've sure your SS would visit if given the chance.
Please just leave this thread or the boards if you so choose. You don't own an 8 anymore and you clearly stated you just come back to vent. You're not helping anyone and are contributing nothing to the community. All you are doing is spreading mis-information. Please take the OP with you.
OP. As stated before, it's a little late, don't you think. We're all here because we love our 8's, we're learning about them, or we need some help with them. Posts like this just turn people away due to mis-information.
I'll leave you both with this. It's directly from my dad's mouth as he was driving my 8 at the tail of the dragon. "I've never driven a car that sticks to the road like this. Hell, I've never had this much fun driving a car before." This is coming from a man with a '69 vette in the garage who has worked for Ford, GM, and US steel companies. He's all american and has only owned american cars, many of them high hp and built at home. He was sad that his son bought a "Jap" car. This is no longer the case. On our way home from DGRR, he said this. "I may have to build something like this instead of a Hot Rod."

Huge hole is huge
The only thing I read in this entire thread is...
"I wanna impress all my buds on Main Street with my HP numbers! I don't wanna get made fun of.....SO THIS ENGINE SUCKS BECAUSE IT DOESN'T FIT MY CRITERIA!"
Srsly KidTroll, gtfo.

Haha I like that quote.
Coming to this forum and spouting about how the Miata is a gay car is kind of silly, no? I'm pretty sure the 8 and the Miata share a lot of the same spirit. I'm pretty sure anybody that would defend the 8 for how it drives would do the same for the Miata.
Haven't read much of the thread, but it is pretty amazing.

Gotta get some vacation time in so I can perform some minor upgrades and then I am on the Dragon!
**NOTE** Steering the thread away from dipshit1 and dipshit2 with the precision of an RX-8 FTW!
