Just bought an 8, did i get a good deal?
All,
I just bought this 2005 with 7450 miles on it. Factory warranty until 1/2010 (or 48k of course). Paid $19,995 from a Chevrolet dealer. Good deal? (I'm already in love with it, so I don't really care, but still curious).

That looks like a good deal..seems to be a GT package (leather seats, etc.). Only concern would be if the previous owner abused it during its "break-in" period..rotary are more susceptible during that time (IMHO). Nevertheless, awesome deal!!

Doubt it was abused. I live in texas, and in texas, chevrolet dealer = truck dealer. They took this on a trade from a guy who thought he wanted a sports car but in reality, wanted a turbodiesel pickup. So...whatever that's about. Anyway, they said the guy hated the car and thus didn't drive it much.

Huh..well, that is good then!! His loss, your gain!!! If you haven't done so already, use the search on this website to find good info on "optimizing" your experiences with the 8!!! Transmission fluid, etc...
If you have the $$, I would invest in some splash guards (front & rear), a/c condenser screen (protect it from rocks), and swap out your old transmission/differential fluids to synthetic (royal purple/redline). Other than that, the 8 is an awesome car as is!!!

Sounds like a good price to me. It looks great and I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do. I bought my 04 GT manual new and financed 28500ish. I am just always skeptical about used cars due to bad experiences. I bought a VW GTI with 8000 miles on it thinking "what could possibly be wrong with it with only 8000 miles." It had been wrecked which I found out later. Salesman always make it sound like a good reason why people trade in their cars. Its normally a pleasant story about a grandmother who kept it in a garage and only drove it to church.

Wash and wax was after the fact. It came wet and icy due to our lovely ice storm in Texas last week, although luckily, they had it displayed under the covered driveway in front of the dealership, so it wasn't too bad.

Oh..if you haven't done so already, take her out for a redline drive after proper warm-up!! Nothing like cleaning out the system if the guy who previously had this car didn't do it justice by taking her out for a be-eeeeeeeeeeep experience
