Just bought a 2010 RX-8 GT(R3 is US)

Hi all,

New to rotaries so hope this site will help me gain as much knowledge as possible.
Haven't taken delivery yet, my car's not even built yet.

Loved the way it handled, and loved the free revving nature of the car. I can only hope my engine will be ok for a long long time, but guess I'll see how my "rotary adventure" pans out

Awesome - feeling better already.

Even figured out the servicing intervals are every 6000miles/10,000kms - which is not that bad.

Anybody here reckons its better to do it at 5,000kms, since 10k seems a bit too long between oil changes?

Every day now feels like eternity waiting for delivery.

personally the members on this site recommend you turn your own wrench and do it every 3000 - 4000 miles. please read up on oil discussion thread and make your own call on what oil to use. (i have a link in my sig that links to the japanese guide)

That being said, you have a brand new rx8 so please please please, follow the break in procedure carefully, i think it'll call for an oil change @ 500 miles into the engine or something (or i can just be thinking of my motorcycle)

I'd change transmission fluid too. Engine is not the only thing that needs a break-in.
