Have you called Jeff or Ray? I'm thinking you still have hope until you get a professional diagnosis. Pics of the clam or it didn't happend.

seriously I would enlist some professional help to take a look and diagnose what's up.

I'm speechless.
Really, I'm just sitting here at my desk, speechless.

You can't spin a turbo up enough at idle to produce enough boost to force past the throttle to produce more boost to freewheel a motor.
Even if you had no wastegate.

So, what actually happened?

RPM isn't the point. Its load.
You could spin the motor up to 7000 RPM. It won't be enough load to spool the turbo enough to get it to freewheel. That's just not how it works (though, that suggestion goes a long way to explaining why some are biased against turbos - lack of understanding about how they work).

did he loop the entire exhaust back into the intake?

where is that funny picture that someone drew. it was a v8 with the exhaust going straight back into the engine.

was just saying - it would not be at idle ...
Maybe there was also an intake hose off that enabled the turbo to get more speed up ....

Once again, this is exactly opposite of how it works.
It would need to push air into the motor. It won't do that on its own.
It certainly won't do it if its disconnected.

thats what I thought too!

MM, I am also left speechless

that is what happened, honest to god, I dont understand what happened

it started up, and idled for 2 seconds, @ 3k rpm, and then just died,

those were the sounds, a huge PSHHHHHHHHHHH and then PING!!! and everything went dead, now it doesn't start, it cranks, but it doesn't start, I first thought it was the INT-X map......but I don't know, it just doesn't seem like it

Could something have been lodged inside the turbo, and came loose when the car started. Thus sucking it (whatever) down the intake.

And don't say a clam either.

BTW taj - what is a clam ?

Down here in nz it can be two things - neither of which is likely to find it's way into a wastegate .....
