I'm a rookie

Anyone have kids??? Can my 10 yrs old, 58 lbs sit up front? Can the airbags be shut down??? Thanks

I believe airbag will shut down. has to be above 120lbs I believe.

Ha! I think the book says over 65#'s works in front passenger seat. My wife weights 80#'s and the airbag light comes on saying its not working, so its really smart because she doesn't weight 65#'s sitting with her feet on floor. The eight is very well designed in my opinion, so probably no worry about light weight people up front.

Your 58# kids will definity make light left of glove compartment come on saying the bags are shut off for them.

Dianne,

On a 2004 the front passenger airbag DOES NOT turn off.
