I'm in LOVE
Wow! Test drove a silver GT at another dealer today. (STILL WAITING ON MINE!). Forget that lack of torque farce you keep hearing about. It pulls nice even in 5th gear. Not enough road to see what 6th would do. Now I'm used to driving a toyota land cruiser which is geared like a tank so from my perspective it's got plenty of umph. Had a 1st gen mx-6 for 10 years so that's the practical limit of my sport driving. Briefly driven a 330, is300(friends) and an audi 1.8T.
The ride is smooth but still stiff and sporty. It takes your average bumps pretty smoothly. Others can be a bit harsh but that's expected. Steering was beautiful, crisp and tight, very responsive. The steering wheel is smallish but very comfy.
Overall ride is near audi/BMW quality. The only thing that was questionable was the rear pass through hatch. It's hard plasitic, good and solid but a slight cheese factor going on. It completly detaches for pass through. A/C was adequate. It's in the mid 90's today and it cooled the car down pretty quickly. It's not frosty but I'm not big on having it frosty cold anyway. The visors were 'interesting' anyway, partially 'mesh' like so they do let light through. Hard plastic, no padding like most cars.
There were extra lug nuts in the trunk with the patch kit. Don't know if those were standard equipment or what.
That hump on the passenger side is quite noticeable. But with your legs streched out you don't notice it that much, I rode in the passenger seat on the way back to the dealer to play with stuff.
The real complaint now is WHERE'S MY FRIGGIN CAR!
