I think i just screwed up my tranny......

So i have like...2000 miles on my car...and I've been having problems whlie shifting from 1st to 2nd gear at high rpms (9K) Shfit from 2nd to 3rd and other gears goes in smooooth. But from 1st to 2nd gear, the resistance is way too high and i always have the rpm drop too much before i can engage to 2nd. So i got really annoyed......the other night.and i just forced the shifter into 2nd (my clutch was down, no grinding gears or anything) Ever since than...shifting from 1st to 2nd is way too smmooth! I asked my friend........and he waslike........maybe your tranny is now broken into. But im paranoid! how can forcefully shifitng like that make my 1st and 2nd gear to shift more smoothly right after??
Now, I also feel less springy as i push the shifter to the left side (going into 1st of 2nd) as compared to the firm springy feeling going to the right side. While my engine is off, i also feel this...really really slight grinding feeling as i push it to the left side. Did...i break anything guys.....? I'm going to bring it to the dealership on saturday, i hope they wont just say "that's normal" because my co-worker said its fine too. But it just feels different! i WANT THE FIRM SHIFT FEELING...
ANY ADVISE!! THANK YOU!

Dunno what to say with only 2k miles on the car. Unless the gears are grinding or popping out of gear, it should be fine. Take it easy on your new car.

I wouldn't forcefully shift into gear because you will be waring your synchros out within a couple years =>grinding gears.

Take it easy on your car...I don't even drive a manual atm and I know that you should shift slowly and carefully. Don't slam it into each gear, ease it into each gear.

What do you expect it to do at 9K in first........There is no real reason to shift there......try 7K in first and smoothly shift it into second

When I'm shifting at high RPM's from 1st to 2nd I have to wait just a moment before shifting into 2nd. It drops right in around 6k RPM i think, which is also pretty much the perfect engine speed to release the clutch at too. All smooth as silk.

It's always a bit notchy 1st to 2nd though. I'd say whatever you did is for the best, and unless it's grinding or popping out of gear, don't worry. As long as the shifts are smooth you should be fine. As you get to know your car you'll figure out exactly how fast you can shift it smoothly into one gear or another. Find the point where it's smooth and enjoy.

This has nothing to do with hard and fast or slow and easy, it's about matching the speed of rotating components that slow at a predictable rate. You just have to find the sweet spot.

So i just took it in to the dealership and as expected they said it is normal, but I requested to test the brand new rX8 gearbox, and I guess maybe i was just paranoid about my own car, but...the scratching feeling that i described from my previous post...was also felt on the new rx8's on both moving to left and right while in neutral. so i guess i'm just too worried...SO i guess you're right SOCKET, maybe it was best for my car. Shifiting from 1st to 2nd gear is much smoother and I'm trying not to rev it too high during 1st gear.
