i love this car...
Hello to my new forum. I have been reading on here for awhile and decided to finally post. Of course this is the typical i'm new thread. i looked to see if you have a newbie section but i couldn't find one, and if there is i apologize in advance for posting in the wrong area. if you would like to know about me or my car you can check out my profile. i have already been subject to the flooding (once and never again)and some of the recalls. but i still enjoy the car. i used to have a drag/drift tacoma before this and have sadly left my toyota forum to join anew. i made some good friends there and hope to do the same here. thanks everyone.

Well, Voodootrip, I will be the first to reply and I won't flame you. Welcome. Happy New Year. How is life in Lemoore? Last week I drove North on 99 and back South on 5 but have not actually been to your town in about ten years. If I remember right, there was a military base there at that time. Is it still there, or is Lemoore now mostly just about farming?
Expect to get flamed at first on this board, but after a while you'll be accepted. Think (and search) before you post. Hey, what do I know? At like 150 posts I kneel in worship to those with many thousands. I wish I had time to read and post like those guys, but I don't.

A drifting Tacoma? This isn't you is it: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/582888 ??
The concept seems really bizarre to me but different things appeal to different types of people I suppose.
Planning on doing a lot of modding to your 8? Check out the Tech forums and read through to see what some other owners have done with their cars.

no thats not me, but it looks just like my buddies old one. it's not that hard in those trucks however i do recommend changing out the rearend because they have a peg leg differential. yes i plan on modding it. i'm going to wait till i get back from deployment to do the bulk of it though.

How did you go from a Tacoma to an RX-8? That's GOT to have a good story behind it...
Plan to do much drift/drag with your 8?
And have you ever owned a rotary car before?

well the story behind the change was i had gone through two tranny's in my tacoma about to go on my third and iat that point i figured it was time to sell. i did not want to pay someone to pass me on smog again, or replace the sychros in the tranny, and it had 200,000 miles on it. the engine was still rock solid though. 3/4 of those miles were from my streetracing days. i plan on getting into some autocrossing and drifting when i get back from cruise. this is my first ownership of a rotary but being in the drifting scene is how i came to love the rotary and the high end powerband. i really need to get the light weight flywheel for her though.

i am navy. the tacoma was perfect for drifting except for the rearend. but swap a posi in there or an old supra rearend and they work great. if you guys want videos i could hook you up with a link.
