i just got my 8 back yesterday from the dealer after i took itback toget an o2 sensor replaced that was damaged when my recall work was done. i was rather glad they told me about it and were going to replace it, i would never had known, but tuesday when i took it to the dealer and drop it off overnight becaues the engine had to be cold when they replaced the sensor my glove box damper gave up the ghost. i told the dealer about it when i handed over the keys and all seemed well. when i picked up my car yesterday i glanced at the invoice and saw something about the glovebox and got my car and drove off for home. when i got home and went to put my radar detector in the glove box the door went clunk . that was nuber one pisser. the second was when i got called into work i was no more than three blocks form home when the cel went on. i rechecked the invoice and was that it said" owner said the glove box wont close". no wonder it wasnt fixed but god##mn it dont you think they would notice the damperer wasnt working!!! and then the cel light, what the f@#k did they do to my 8!!! sorry about ranting but i do not really want to take my car back to the dealer again. at least they will fix the damperer this time i guess.

you are so right i am pissed at the dealer, not my beloved 8 which despite the cel runs like a dream. i just had to vent my anger instead of going out into the street screaming my head off and getting taken to the boobie hatch.

an update on my o2 sensor replacement. took my car back to the dealer thursday and called friday afternoon and asked if my car was ready. i was told yes the car was ready but they were going to take it out for one more test drive. i went home,let my dogs out then drove up to the dealer to return my loaner taurus and get mybaby back. i shoud have home 5 more minutes because sandy , the lady in service who i have been dealing with called to tell me that the cel kept coming on and the tech was on the phone to mazda andthey were going to have to keep my car over the weekend. she told me , after i had driven the 22 miles to the dealer to get my car, that they had had a similar problem with someone elses rx 8 and that mzda had told them to replace the catalytic converter after which he had no more cel problems. has this happenedto anyone else? let me know. thanks.

Yes, cat failures are becoming common. Gee, I wonder if it has anything to do with flooding and running rich? So much for the initial retuning to make it last whatever thousands of miles as per EPAII!

now i have never had my car flood, as to running rich i couldnt say. well i will find out tommorow whats going on. i just want my car back, it is nice to have a loaner car but it is no substitute.
