I <3 Rocks!
Just pulled this out of my grille... Flew outta nowhere on the interstate just a bit ago. Nothing *important* seems to be damaged, just looks like ***. Went all the way through the mesh and bumper foam, straight to the body. Hit hard.

HOLY SHYTNIT!! just wow!!
I found a rock about half that size stuck in the drivers side oil cooler compartment while installing my racing beat screens. Made me thankful I was installing them that day.
Glad it was only your grill and not your hood or windshield man.. that looks like it could of done some major damage at the rate of speed it was going.

Me too... I felt the thing hit the car... Was like I drove over a pothole or something. Yeah, I'm glad that everything that matters is still intact. Just a bloody lip.

you're lucky you didn't run over the rock....I ran over a rock of that size once and it bounced up into the engine bay, hit the air condenser and blew it up (I have an '04 RX8). The 04's doesn't come with any protection screens, so it left the bay wide open to anything that may bounce up into it.
Luckily, I made a big deal out of it (they wanted $1000 to fix it, even though Mazda should have protected it in the first place) and they decided to warranty the part.
Just gives you an idea of how prone these cars are to rocks.

Day'eem! That's not a rock! That's a BOULDER! Where were you driving, in a quarry?
Seriously, that is a BIG *** rock! I agree with everyone. I could've been a lot worse. The grill pannel can be replaced without too much headache. The windshield, hood, or roof would've been real bad.
Look on the bright side, now you can justify buying a Mazdaspeed bumper or anyother you like~

Lol, I know... the only vehicle in front of me was an explorer... not sure what it came from. Was on a 3-lane interstate, too.
