Huge disappointment

This is what happens when you get your hopes up.

I'm shopping around for a used '04 and I found a sweet deal. The salesman was telling me everything over the phone.
17000 miles red rx-8 with everything and I mean everything. The only thing this car didn't have was the Shinka package and what was it gunna cost? $21,000!!!! That's it I couldn't believe it. I was thinking the car had to be a lemon but nope it's history was clean.

Then the salesman goes "Oh ****.....ahhh you wanted AT right?"

CRAP!

Oh well if anyone want's a sweet deal on an AT RX-8 in the midwest contact Hubler in Indy.

I bet you can find an 05 for around 21k...the mileage might be a bit more, but ok. Look on ebay.

There is even a Shinka that should sell around 24-25

...though one other guy has "gas saver" on his listing...LOL! Maybe while it sits in the garage.

I had a similar thing happen to me. I got my Winning Blue '05 8 with 3660 miles and a Sport Package for $21850 from a Mazda dealership.

No worries, it isn't as if these cars are rare or anything. No need to fret, another one will come along soon at an even better price.

It's been rumored that some of the 04's have super powers and have been made with metal from the Holy Grail.

The O4s are indeed rare.

They run on eel farts, and do mid-10 second 1/4 mile runs.

Yeah I'm still looking I just hate playing the game with dealerships.

With all the options to consider how you determine if a '04 or '05 is a good deal?

Is a low milage '04 GT worth <20K ? How about an '05?

I've been looking at carmax too and those prices all seem kinda high. Any thoughts?

Yellow seems pretty rare. In my hunt I keep running into mostly red and black with a few blue and greys.

so....I guess yellow is special

congrats

Keep in mind all new 05's will have 4k in dealer cash on them so expect to pay a minimum of 4k below invoice on a new 05. You can get 2k off on 06's right now. That keyless entry and start is pretty spiffy.

If you can find a new 2005 8 and you can't get $8k off MSRP, there's something very wrong.
