Just traded in my 8, she was getting tired and I'm getting old. Picked up a '14 Mazda 3. Enjoyed the RX8 for 11 years! Never replaced the engine, started losing compression at 117,000 miles (that is when I let her go).

I've had mine since Jan 31st 2004. I plan on keeping mine until my son graduates college in 2 years. It's his then if he wants it, otherwise I'm keeping it. 111K miles. Never had a compression test (haven't felt the need to do it). Still runs great. Pretty much stock, but adding the BHR ignition this month. It's held up well, bumper has a gnarly gash thanks to a bouncing piece of concrete years ago and the body has typical scratches complements of parking lots. I love this car. Still smile heading into off ramps :D

Great story - my neighbors son loved it so much that he and his g-friend got a black 8. So now on the street there are 2 '04 8's lined up.

Since October 2003 and still going strong on original engine and Hymee supercharged for more than 3 years.

Car build date was 17th September 2003 and that is my birth day as well so the car has a special significance to me.
