Homelink mirror option?

Mazda doesn't have the homelink mirror as an option. But what I don't understand is it's the same mirror that is in the Mazda 6! So why can't I just buy it and install it?

Does it run on battery? Or is there wiring? I could just get the Mazda 6 mirror installed.

he's canadian tribal. i suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask someone if the one from the 6 would work, like the parts guy at the dealership. also shouldn't one for the rx-8 be available thru the parts people for instances when one doesn't work correctly and needs to be replaced? if not now, maybe soon.
