Red face Hmmmmmm.....not an 8 in sight for three days!

What is up with dat? I drove to Valley Forge, PA. this weekend (as a passenger in a car pool) and did not see a single RX-8 the entire trip, not one! Drove up there from VA Beach to a MFCA show (Model figure and sculpters show). Drove thru four states and did not see a single one!

Wow the 8 really is a rare breed.

Definitely a rare car.

While I see 2 or 3 regularly around Boston.

On a recent vacation in San Diego and LA I only saw 1 RX-8 during 2 weeks.

The one I saw was driven by a guy who looked to be about 70.

Car is only rare because over half of them are still sitting at dealership. Of course it's a first year car as well, so it always takes a couple years for them to flood the streets. I see at least one every day here in NJ. Just give it time, and this car will be a dime a dozen. In like 4 years, the streets will be flooded with rx8s. I am enjoying the looks while I can, because I know before too long car will be everywhere.

I live in Manhattan. I drive a lot on weekends, sometimes up to 100 miles away and, so far, I have seen a total of only three RX8's anywhere!

In Columbus, OH I probably see a RX8 once every 2-3 weeks. Definately not a lot of them on the roads here. If dealer inventory is any sign I don't think they are selling particularly well here. The 8 is still on my short list of cars I'm considering though. Need to make up my mind in the next week.

There's a cadre of them in Richmond. I was up in Northern Virginia a couple weekends ago and saw one on the road. The local dealer here says they've sold 3 or 4 in the last month, but prior to that mine was only the 3rd one they have sold. I know of, through the board, but I've never seen, 2 others in my area.

They're just not selling incredibly well. There's plenty of reasons... which I'm just not going to get in to.

I saw two driving to and from work today. Unfortunately I saw about 75 of them just sitting at the local dealership as I passed by. It's like one parking lot just for rx8s. Kind of sad actually that this car isn't selling very well. Only one thing bothers me more then anything had I waited to buy this car, I'd have gotten an even better deal on it. These cars are gonna be selling well below invoice before too long, due to the slow sales.

Sales may pick up - Mazda has been running the RX8 commercial pretty hard on TV these last few days...
On one hand I hope it sells well, and is around a long time. On the other, I hope I continue to drive a car that is somewhat rare, and very noticeable.

Actually if you check out the sales reports, Mazda has sold between 2000-2500 RX-8 a month

Tell me about it. Here in the Fort Benning/Columbus, GA area I haven't seen any 8's for the past 4 weeks. I might have the only 8 on base!!. That's all cool with me.

I've seen probably around 3 or so where I live in the Cleveland area. I only see about five or so on the lot at any one time though.
