Help me identify this part!
So, I was getting into my car the other day, and I stepped on something as I put my foot in the car. Turns out I stepped on this slightly bent black metal bar, about four inches long with a screw on one end and a **** on the other (see attachment).
I'm assuming that this should be, you know, connected to something instead of rolling around the footwell. I'm guessing that it either belongs somewhere under the dash or under the driver's seat, but I can't figure out exactly where.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Really really really need to put it back.
It goes under the drivers seat, screws down and the *** that points up, hold the floor mat in place.

Yeah that holds the drivers side mat in place so it doesnt slide around. Too late for me, i already tore my all weather floor mat by the cluth and split up the hole that attaches the mat to that thing. I drive really ugly

Thanks for the responses.
Er, at least the accurate ones.
Anyway, I popped the piece back into place, but it pulls out very easily. I think that I need to have the dealer take a look at it next time I go in.
