Hello Everyone

Hello from not so sunny Northern Ireland, well it is 4.45am.

Just picked up my lurvely RX8 on Friday and have to say it is an awsome car, and I only got the 190bhp version

However I do have 1 question. After I got the car home I noticed that the interior lighting and the courtesy lights on the doors are staying on all the time

Just wondering has this happend to anyone else and will it be a big job to have fixed as Im getting a little fed up pulling the fuse out everytime I need to leave the car stopped for a few hours?

Welcome to the club and congrats on the car! I hope that you'll post pictures.

Sorry if the question are stupid.
Did you wait a while? The lights are supposed to stay on for a while for entry and exit.
Did you shut off the overhead light switch?
Other than that the lights should be off within 30 seconds.
Do the lights go off if you lock the car?

To be honest Im not really into all modding ect.

I was looking at a 2004 230bhp version, it was going to cost in the region of £7,200 to change from my old car. As I know the bloke in the garage he phoned me the next day and said they were getting a 190bhp version with the same wheels, interior ect and it was 4 months old with 4200 miles on the clock. Was'nt that impressed with it untill he told me I could get that for £8,300 along with my other car.

Maybe in a few months I will regret not going for the 230bhp, but a car 3 years younger and well in waranty for an extra £1,100 is hard to turn down.

Indeed I agree it is a good choice.

Didnt go looking for an 8 but after a test drive, well, that more or less sold it to me.

check that the switch for the over head light is in the proper position to automaticaly turn the lights of after the doors are closed. it can be put into a position which keeps the lights on

Yeah, that is fine. Have it switched to off at the moment. Hope to get it booked into a local Mazda garage in the next few days.
