Yes, i was the OP of the honda-tech thread. I just wanted to let everyone know that although I loved my integra, it was time to let her go and upgrade to the 8. I return next day, and the thread is 5 pages long with bunch of kids whinnnnnning about how they don't like the car because they don't/ can't own one. It's actually very amusing to read through.

Well that wasn't very interesting. That thread was surprisingly tame and well-balanced. There's always going to be one or two guys that says "my <insert piece of crap beater car here> can pwn j00". I'll bet most people in that forum don't even know that 8 has a rotary. Pretty standard stuff.

That was actually pretty tame. I find it ironic that an Integra person could actually call the Renesis "lacking" when it comes to power. Go look at Scott from Mazsport's dyno chart for an RX-8 he tuned. 212 rwhp and it still hasn't been opened up yet. Doesn't seem too lacking to me. About the only logical argument I could see was the gas mileage issue and if you don't care than that's a moot point anyways.

It's great how some of them compare the 8 to two-seaters, and when it's not up to par in acceleration, it's an inferior car. Typical rice rocket huggers.

It's so great infact, that 8 owners do it nearly everyday on this forum. I've seen far far worse here. That was tame.

Every car that is compared to the RX-8 on this forum gets bashed much harder than the RX-8 was over there. The biggest difference is many of the negatives they're saying about the RX-8 are actually true. The person over there that seems the most clueless is some dumb kid with a 5.0 stang, and they took care of him rather easily. Though one guy claiming the RX-8 could keep you cool in the summer was a little off base

On Rx8club.com people bash on other cars for poor styling, and interior quality! lol

I didn't think it was too bad at all either. Just a couple of ignorant and immature teenagers that made stupid comments, but its inevitable that you see people like that in message boards. My favorite comment was
"going from a honda to an rx8 in the handling feild is like going from Rosie O Donnell to Jessica Alba."

I agree with Ike though, some people in this forum are much more defensive and critical of other cars when it comes to their 8. Check out the thread where a kid is deciding between an 8 and an SI and some people endlessly bash the SI and yell heresy for comparing it to the 8.

I think the guy with the S2000, chubzilla, was a little harsh on the RX8......not sure why. The Mustang guy was just a moron. All and all most were pretty positive about the 8 and the things they complained about were the same things we complain about.

Argh, friggin fan boys get annoying. On here and on other sites. But i agree with most, that thread was pretty well balanced. You should see some other threads about the rx8, there are some very clueless people running around.

Can't drive it less then 12 miles I loved that one!

This type of stuff happens on every board. You just have cluless people on boards that just love to HATE!

Happen all the time on the Maxima board, Mustang guys would actually log on the Maxima board especially the 2k2 Maxima forum and try to start stuff. Sad thing is , that these clueless souls couldn't stomach the idea that a 3,320 lbs 4-door car with 255HP/245 TRQ could beat them if not run neck and neck with these GT guys. The 3.5 VQ motor was no joke! Videos and all, and they still had a hard time accepting the truth. The 2k2/2k3 Maxima wouldn't win no beauty contest, but it had it where it counted ...under the hood.
