Headlight
For the people who got the Xenon light, did you notice that the light is not fully white?
The top part of the light is yellow, try to put your hand in front of the light, you will see it.
At the beginning, is not that much, but now, some how it make my light not as white and bright.
Anyone got the same problem??

it should actually be reddish too if you look really close, then at the bottom there should be a blue-ish line too. this is refraction, or if you prefer, just plain simple physics.
there's not a whole lot you can do about it, as long as it's just a line on the top and bottom of the beam, i wouldn't worry about it, if you suddenly have 25% of your beam yellow i'd start worrying =)

It Takes Time ...
The HIDs/ballasts takes time to change colors as well. As you'll find later on in your driving experience, it gets more blue/white/yellow/pink etc. It's normal for HIDs to display an array of colors. It's also the HID power output rating bulb that affects the main color beam output. (IE - A 4000K HID output will be white/yellowish while a 6000K HID output will be more purple/blueish).

That looks like 5000K type of output ... Do you have any friends to compare their HIDs and yours? Different manufacturer uses different K types while the ballast output also affects the way the visual projection is. Though yours is quite "yellowish", possibly from the angle output. Someone who's got the experience of playing around with HIDs should be able to help you "tweak" it to a more satisfying output.

The picture that you've taken of your HIDs almost look like Halogens inside a projector housing. Try taking more pictures of the beam output, cuz that doesn't look very "xenon" to me...but that's just my opinion. And for almost all regular HID's, car manufactures use 4500k bulbs. They do give off a yellowish hue but do to the housing of certain light makers, the beam of the light "seem" more white. If you want a more blueish beam, you should try the 6000k aftermarket bulbs or even 8000k ones. The 8000k bulbs gives off a super white/blueish glow ( it looks as if one has just turned on the regular 4500k bulbs) but it stays that way the entire time.

As I said, the photo were taken during day time, that's why it doesn't seen that bright.
The yellow only occur at the top of the light, the rest are bright and white.
I'm not sure are all RX-8's xenon light are like that or not.
But the photo I saw from the other thread
http://www.rx-8forum.com/showthread....&threadid=8280
That xenon looks really bright with a bit of blue, rather than
yellow.
Can anyone check your RX-8 xenon light for me please.
I wanna make sure are there any problem with my light.
If there is, I'm definitely bring my RX-8 back to Mazda and ask them to fit a new lights on.

first off...I think most cars have 4300K HIDs.
second, since the headlight housing is a projector assenbly it will reflect different from normal reflector housing. I think that is where the yellowish tint on the outer portion of the beam is coming from...
just a little warning for those who were looking to get different Kalvin bulbs. The higher you go in K's, the bluer the light will be, but the light reflection off the ground will be less. Another words they will seem dimmer to the driver.

Plus if you change them you will just be blinding the other drivers. The first HID bulbs that came out seemed very blue, higher color temp. These looked cool but I, and my wife, found that they were very blinding when your on the other end of them. See how they work before being in a hurry to change them. Just my opinion, but I don't want to look at yur ultra bright white/blue lights.
