Great comment - "It's a Study Hall" car ...

Have to share with you all a funny story from last night.

I was at my softball game for the "Advil League" I play in (it's a 35+ league, which means you have to be 35 years old or older to play - hence the nickname "Advil League" - if you're my age, you'll get the joke), and was standing by the car after my game, taking off my cleats, putting my gear in the trunk, etc. when a guy from another team came by to admire the RX-8 - which was parked under a streetlight, making the yellow paint glow florescently.

ANYWAY ... his comment was ...

"Man, that is one cool car. They've finally built a real Study Hall Car."

I looked at him quizzically, and he went on to explain:

"It looks like one of those cars I used to draw in Study Hall when I was a kid!"

That's the best description of the styling of this car that I've ever heard. Let's face it, the fender lines, the swoops, etc. ARE a little cartoon-ish, which honestly increases the cool factor exponentially.

I used to draw all kinds of Study Hall Cars ...was my favorite passtime as a student. God knows studying didn't cut it for me.

Great comment!

In contrast, my 12 year-old had a good one when we saw our first Scion "suv" on the road. She said, "Mom, I'm pretty sure I designed that car when I was 4."

The lines are just like a sports car that I used to draw on my Commodore 64 with a Koala pad.

Unfortunately my artistic abilities could never produce a car like the rx8.

That was a blast from the past- I spent countless hours drawing cars and spaceships on my C64 & Koala Pad, with that near-HD quality resolution of 160x200
