Got rear-ended, where can I get a new bumper?

Today I washed my car and had to discover that someone must have run or backed into my car. I drove the RX-8 only twice in the last two weeks, so I cannot tell when it exactly happened. Thought it was the housemate, but her car shows no damage. Darn. I'll have to eat this because just 3 weeks ago I raised my insurance deductible from $500 to $1000.

I was really pissed. I keep the 8 in the garage all the time and don't take it downtown which is full of pot-heads to avoid just this kind of damage. "Downtown" means "Santa Cruz", FYI.

Ok. Enough of that. See the picture, looks like I only need that left-most panel there. Other than going to the dealer, can I order that somewhere "cheap" and put it on myself?

(Or will that void my warranty ? LOL)

that is not apart of the bumper, u can take those off and on. I would recommend buying the MS kit to cover it up though.

Downtown is full of potheads aye? Not to get off subject, but if anyone hits your car, it's WAY more likely to be either the elderly, a kid, or someone that's been drinking. It has been Proven, at my college in fact, and in many other studies, that driving while talking on a cell phone is more dangerous than driving stoned off you ***. And even under the legal limit of alchohol, you are more impaired. It even turns out that it's more dangerous to drive tired than stoned.
So, maybe you would have had better luck if you had parked it down town, with the "potheads"

Good news! The part that I need to replace is the "left rear bumper guard"

#50-370B

My dealer quoted my $53 (+ 8% sales tax)

Rosenthal sells it for $31 - out of state, no sales tax added :-)

I looked around on the parking lot again, I'd say someone's trailer hitch punctured that hole and he just drove away.

Anyway, I'm glad the bumper is not seriously damaged (a little touchup paint needed to be applied). That guard really worked!

Thats what I've been trying to tell you. I had to take those off to test fit the Mazdaspeed rear diffusser.

someone should get their hands on the one that got wrecked by the oil-change place. there were lots of rear end parts that were salvageable for people with needs like this.
