Got rear ended today
Well yet another 8 has been damaged by some jack off. I got rear ended by this kid who pulled up to close and the guy behind him hit him when his foot slipped off the gas. The kid had insurance, the guy that hit him did not. Well he said he did and produced an insurance form but it was canceled May 1st. Today was one of the crappiest days of my life.

I feel your pain. I ran over an 18wheeler's hufrigginmongous tire tread bouncing along the freeway the other day and ripped apart the splash pans under my front bumper, along with some paint damage.

Sorry to hear about your 8. Are you okay? Sure seems like we have an unusual amount of accidents, vandalism, etc.... I hate it when people pull up really close behind me. It makes me very nervous since I've been rear-ended a number of times, 3 to be exact (and one car got rearended while it was parked). Oh no, that means every car I've owned has been rear-ended... oh great, it's only a matter of time for the 8... lol.... :D

I feel you man...
I got hit in the EZ Pass lane by a tractor trailer last week. Didn't do much damage at all because he hit me doing about 5mph.
But since the car doesn't even have 2k on it I am replacing the rear bumper.
Things will get better! At least you are okay.

I understand where you are coming from, I baby my car like no other, but you really need to gain some perspective on things if you think your car being in an accident is the worse thing in your life. Things can get a lot worse, and cars are on the road, with targets painted on them.
I've been in ... 4 car accidents. All of them totaled. Each accident was caused by some jack *** who ran into me. Yet for each loss, I typically lost out of pocket close to $2000, sometimes more. Including one time when my car only 28 days off the lot was rear ended by a construction truck.
Sure I got pissed off, but in the end as long as you're still alive, and able to walk, you've got things going well for you.

I was stopped at a light when it happened, damage is minimal, and I am fine. I am just pissed because people are so careless. This is my 3rd time to be rear ended and the 2nd time to be rear ended by an uninsured motorist.

The car that I had for 28 days was also rear ended. I was at a stop light (3 lane road) in the middle lane. The guy ran into me - he apparently didn't see my car or the red light. He was self employed, and was self insured? Anyway, I had to settle with my own insurance company. It didn't help that things from my car were missing (cd player, books, cash, etc) when i went to pick up my personal items from the car after it was towed.
Do you have any pics of the accident? I'm glad to hear the damage was minimal.

Yes they do require it but there are a lot of people breaking the law. They write them a ticket and send them on their merry way still without insurance, I think they should impound the car and not allow them to get it back until they have at least 6 months of insurance paid for and the fine paid. We don't do that here because we wouldn't want to offend the illegals here.

I agree, no insurance = no car.
I guess that might then raise the rate of hit and run drivers, but if they had no insurance, it's not like they're being held accountable for their actions to begin with.
At least with hit and run, they can be punished.

I don't know about the rear bumper, but I recently had an altercation with a truck tire that took out my front bumper, grille, condensor, and oil pan sensor. Total repair cost ended up being $3167. I can break it down some more if anyone's interested.
