Getting an RX8 from Out of State.

Well I found a dealer that I really like but they dont have the color i want for the RX-8. I live in California and i found the perfect RX-8 in the next state over in Arizona. Would a California dealer be able to get it from the Arizona dealer? If they can and they ship it, will i have alittle more power to negoiate price or haggle alittle bit?

The dealership could buy it from the other dealer, but you'd most likely have to pick it up or pay the shipping yourself, unless you know someone. After the dealer bought it then you could consequently buy it from them. But then again, this is usually an insider thing, I'm not sure if they would do it for just a walk-in customer. Or, find out if someone at that dealer wants a specific packaging or whatnot and the dealers could engineer a vehicle swap.

If I were you, I'd get a one-way ticket to the nearest airport to the AZ dealer and drive it back. Would be a lot of fun and a great way to get to know your car!

Make sure it meets Cali emissions or has at least 7500 miles on it. This will get you past DMV.

Get in touch with a car broker. There is a "trucking fee" probably around $250. That's how I got my 8 from Las Vegas to Phoenix.
I bet you could get a volunteer to drive it out to you, expecially with SS9 this weekend.

how much are the asking for it? unless its like 26, i would wait till the 07 comes out and just get them to customize it for you. Im on wait for mine. They building it in japan :D w00t complete custom. Im even getting most of the mazdaspeed accesories for the car specially the body kit. But if the price is right then just make sure it passes cali emission.

I was looking at cars out of state and had to look for one with more than 7500 miles on it.

Cars with under 7500 miles have to pass Calif. emissions. The RX-8 is not a 50 state vehicle so the Arizona car could not be imported unless it had over 7500 miles and then it is exempt.

You're going to have a problem either way if its new.
