Mazdaspeed Accessory Pricing?

Why are Mazdaspeed Accessories so crazy expensive. My son just came back from SEMA and brought me a signed poster from the Mazdaspeed booth. The poster features a bright orange Mazdaspeed RX-8 with full MS kit, wheels, etc. that looks incredible. However, when I look online to check pricing everthing is outrageous. How does it serve Mazda to produce these high end parts if no one in their right mind (or very few at least) is willing to pay for them.

Mazdaspeed could generate so much more interest (and profit) if they made their products more reasonably priced so that a larger number of enthusiasts could afford to purchase them, hence spreading more excitement for the Mazdaspeed brand. Sorry... just had to rant.

they are very expensive, but if you are looking at buying through a dealer, half of the reason is because of the dealer. they charge a LOT. my dealer would charge 900 for the MS exhaust, and 450 for the cold air intake.

Mazdaspeed prices will drop the day after they shelf the rx8 not a moment sooner.

You'll always find better deals on MS stuff from online vendors.

I still remember I got my MS front bumper thru Tommy @ Rosenthal for 700 something. Because it has a minor damage, which I fixed it with a little custom made thing in my garage.

As always, dont go to your local dealer for prices UNLESS they're the cheapest. Go online vendor, they're still Mazda dealers but its just that they know how to treat customer in the right way, instead of ripping them off.

If you autocross or road race sign up for Mazdaspeed motorsports. You can get MS and OEM parts at near cost.

Mazdaspeed products are VERY expensive if you just go to a dealer.

+1 on Rosenthal's pricing
+1 on signing up for motorsports program. (requires that you turn in time slips from Autocross event, might not be what you're looking for)

It should be what you're looking for if you bought the car. It sucks down as as a daily driver, it sucks as a drag race car, you shouldn't be doing powerslides on the street, what else would you want to use it for?

I bought it with zero intentions of taking it on the track.
I was set to buy an Infinity G35 coupe until I drove it and the car talked me out of the purchase.

I would imagine he bought it for the same reason most of us bought our cars; unique, fans of the rotary; design, and a fun car to drive with exceptional handling.

They ARE expensive. But they look good. Could not justify the spoiler or mirror prices but I like the rest.

Agree with what everyone has said. Forgot about the Mazda Competition Parts program pricing on MS parts. Looks like I'll have to look into that option.
