Get Rid of the Chrome Console

Who like the center console? I think it's so ugly. Looks like recycled aluminum cans. (It probably is plasic, but ughhh). The dials are too retro for me.

I think the pic you're lookin at is old, from the Evolv. The latest RX-8 interior is very sharp, IMHO.

I was looking for the oldest threads out there and got the idea that I would resurect one. Apparently, while I was out getting hitched, the same idea occured to other members, so I resurrected this one out of spite.

I took my center console out and painted it gloss black. Looks much better than the grey/silver plastic there now.

BTW nice work on riviving this post.

Hey, I wish they'd kept that rotary start button as OEM. That looks much better than any of the aftermarket mods people have done.

If you don't like the chrome you can repaint as RX-A-Ho did, or find a shinka center console with the piano black runners...

Shinka center console runners are ~$800 according to the dealership. That is why I painted mine. If I screwed them up (which I didn't) comes about to be the same cost :-P
