footwell lights wont close

Hello, I have installed the footwell lights that I bought from rx8strakes.com and the problem i have is that they do not dim, they just continually stay on whether I close the door. I tapped in the red and blue wire, and the green and black wire, if anybody could help that would be great.
another member posted this, i reposted it here for more responses because i need the same answer.

Send a message via AIM to PSTNLSS
I'd go out and double check that it is the correct red and blue wire or green and black wire

Could be a simple mistake

Sounds like you hit the wrong power wire. Not on a relay with the interior lights.

Sorry I cant be of help I do not have these. I installed a 20 buck pair

it's kinda hard to tell from those pix you posted...it should come off that harness that runs parallel to the floor above the dead pedal...you have to cut away some of the insulation to get to the wires

what I did was found both green/black wires (1 was light green/black, 1 was dark green/black) and compared them...that way you know which wire for sure to splice into. Dark green/black is the one you want.

UPDATE: I'am almost 100% sure that it is in the wrong harness by comparing the pics. However I have to buy a new tap, the one I removed won't fit anymore.

WORKS UPDATE:
well we tried everything and it wouldn't work, my dad ended up opening the door panel and finding the wire that leads to courtesy lights and he connected the foot lamps with those. So my foot lamps turn off right when the courtesy lights/map lights turn off. is this how everyone else's foot lamps are? Or do your guy's foot lamps turn off after 15 seconds.?
Thanks to everyone that tried to help.
special thanks to rex
