Angry Flooding of a different kind

I tried a search, and couldn't find anything like it, so please forgive me if this has come up before. Back in January, I had a tail light replaced under warranty due to condensation inside the tail light. I noticed almost immediately after it was replaced, that it still had condenstation forming inside it. I didn't think it was an emergency, so I decided I would wait until my next oil change to bring it up with the dealer.

On Saturday, I went to get my laptop out of the trunk, and found that our recent California rain had somehow managed to find it's way in there. I'm not talking about a little bit either, my laptop was litterally sitting in a large puddle of water. All of the weather stripping around the edge of the trunk appears to be intact, the only place I can figure it might have come in was around the newly replaced tail-light which doesn't seam to have been sealed properly (as evidenced by the continued appearance of condensation).

I have already taken my car back to the dealer (after taking pictures) who promptly pushed me back out the door under the guise that Enterprise was only open for another 10 minutes (It was almost 1pm on Saturday). ...So it was either stand there and try to discuss the problem with the service guy, ...or go get a rental car. I did manage (before leaving) to show him the flooded trunk, and the damage to my personal items (including my dripping laptop), but all he would tell me was that they couldn't look at it until Monday (today)

...So now I am sitting at home, waiting for the dealer to call. ...But even if they have figured out the cause, I don't expect a call until they have decided on a course of action, including what compensation (if any) I am due for the damage to my stuff. ...And I'm pretty sure they will ask Mazda North American about that. I'm not sure if I should be expecting a call today or not. ...But the longer they go without calling me, the higher my blood pressure is rising. ...I kinda feel sorry for the first person to call me from Mazda at this point.

Has anybody else had this problem, if so what was the resolution. If not, does anybody have any advice for dealing with mazda on this issue?

Thanks

I'm still trying to give the dealer a chance to make things right before dragging their name through the mud, so I will with-hold their name for now. I'm giving them the benifit of the doubt since this is the first problem I've had with their service dept.
...But for the geographically curious, I live at the southern end the San Francisco Bay Area

Not yet, but it's only 4pm here. Their service dept is open until 5:30
I'm trying to be optimistic, but it's getting more difficult by the minute.

Give them a call and find out the status rather than sitting around stewing.

Well, I spoke with the service manager.
He told me that the tail-light had been fixed, but that they wanted to test overnight to be sure that it wasn't still leaking. He also stated that they were speaking with the Factory Rep about the damages, and that they should know more about that by morning. He told me I should call around 11 if I haven't heard anything by then.
...So I guess in the mean time, I'm still in limbo.

I got my car back this afternoon.

They re-sealed both tail-lights, and tested for water leaks. I'm dissappointed that they didn't replace the carpet in the trunk, but I'll bring it back to them at the first signs of any mold.

My laptop booted once it dryed out, so I'll have to run some diagnostics against it to see if their is any damage. The service rep told me to submit a claim once I have determined what (if anything) was damaged by the water.
