Finally got my car
There's a million threads like this, but I guess there's a reason for it. Joined here months ago, been reading up and down on problems, good things, etc. I only owned a MX-5 before, and after knowing so much about the 8 I was ready to not be overly excited by driving it when I went to pick it up this week, ordered it a few months ago as an import from the US so it takes some time.
I were really surprised though, what a fantastic car! Way over my expectations, I love the smoothness and the attention to detail in the interior and everything. And it looks AWESOME, so much better than pictures. It's a Winning Blue GT with appearance package and wing. The car was also extremely well kept, it seriously looks like new and it's a 04, couldn't find anything wrong in the paintwork. Only driven like 12000 miles now though. So it's been a summer/garage car in the US.
The engine definiately feels to be up for everything, I'm having a bigger checkup and changing engine and gearbox oil next week. Will probably change diff oil myself soon too. But the gearbox seems to be similar to my MX-5 which got more sensitive to "lazy" clutching after a while, I think changing fluids fixed that. As when I'm not driving aggressively I tend to not be as quick letting the clutch out and stepping on the gas and I notice that the shifter seems more notchy when I do everything slower and not that precise :P Seemed to be fluids on the 5, so I'm hoping it's not a gearbox on the 8 :P
Just looking forward to my next drive, the sound when approaching redline is awesome

Reading about the 8 and driving the 8 are completely different experiences. It wouldn't be called "Rotary Experience 8" if it drove like any other type of vehicle.
And pics never do the 8 justice. It's so much better looking in person.
Congrats and welcome to the club. Lets see some pics!

Car looks fantastic! I'm a northener around the globe from you in Southeast Alaska. This is such a superb machine, you are going to love it! I wanted mine for so long and now I've had it for only 10 days, I don't think it has really settled in yet! Hey, this is crazy, but how the hell do you get pictures up on the site like you did? I can't figure it out! cheers

About the images. When you use the Post Reply button and not Quick reply there's an area under the Submit reply button with a button that says Manage Attachments. Click that and upload the images you want to show in your post. Then to get the images into your post click the paper clip icon on the icons on top of the post box, that allows you to insert the attachments into your post. Hope that explains it.
