Finally bought my 2006 RX-8!
Hey guys and gals...just wanted to say I brought home a new 2006 Phantom Blue RX-8 today and I love it already! I've been watching the group for about a year now and have been planning on buying but just waiting until I was finally ready. Found a beautiful Phantom Blue Tuesday at the local Mazda Dealership, 6 speed manual with the touring package and a sunroof. Took her for a test drive and was sold! Bought it yesterday and just love it!!!!!! The Phantom Blue is such a cool color too. I paid 29,500 out the door..did I do good? Glad to really be an rx-8 owner finally. Be talking to ya'll more in the very near future!

Welcome to the club. Enjoy the ride. Try to find some twistys to take it on. As far as a good deal goes, if you feel good about what you paid then you got a good deal. You can always bang your head to try to find a better dean and there will always be somebody whe says they got the same car for a lot less. Most people I talk to got their 8 for a grand or more below invoice.

Congratulations! The more you drive it, the more you'll love it. Now put a body kit on there so that you'll be the first phantom blue 8 with a kit! Oh and post pictures too!

Good buy! Look forward to making any excuse just to take it out. I've been driving around alot, even when I don't really have anywhere to go! Definitely take on some winding roads, it will leave a smile on your face for days!
Congrats on the new car!

Pics
here are some pics =) I took these Wednesday when I got it home around 7PM. You can see just how different the color can be as the sun goes down, versus when it's full daylight outside.

Hello 8 owners and on lookers,
While most of America was finalizing there taxes on 4-17-06, I was purchasing a 2005 left over velocity red 6 speed car. 1,600 miles and just over 30 days now and I am wondering why I waited as long as I did to get one of these!
I usually ponder a purchase for weeks if not months, but I bought this one over the phone at a dealer just out of DC while on Easter vacation. Help me out with what I have here. I have read and reviewed all the information provided with the car, but I am looking for the real people replies on issues. I know about the oil burn, 93 octane fuel and the potential flooding issues, but are there any other things to look out for in owning an 8?
Looking forward to a great experience and a great forum group,
RW

Congrats, and welcome to you both!
The stock tires suck in snow. That's the only other one I know of, and I don't know that from personal experience living in So Cal. Hehe
