Engine Replacement (My Summary of everything)

Engine Replacement (My Summary of everything)
So I had about 10 different posts all about my car, when it died on the highway July 7th and I had it toed to the dealership.
Just wanted to summarize everything.
My car is a 2004 standard with 56,000km
Never raced, and all highway km (Litterally all highway miles) but I have redlines it often enough to try to keep that carbon from sticking on!
100% Stock
Drove 7 hours straight when I was 40km from my destination and it died.
They replaced;
While trying to find the problem;
"Cat Converter, O2 sensor & Engine mounts"
then
"Spark Plugs, Wires, Coils"
then;
New Intake Manifold (This thing was $2300 bucks!!! But all on warranty)
then;
New Motor
Once I got it back I realized the window was broken and they replaced that for Free, no questions asked! I was extremely grateful!
So I sit now with my car, it now has 2000km on the new engine.
Everything is excellent. I have a bill of $12,000 that was all covered under warranty and I paid $700 myself for misc. things like the coils, spark plugs, wires, oil change, new block heater, air filter etc.
I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with both the car (Now) hehe
and the Dealership (Sunridge Mazda in Calgary, Alberta)
When the engine blew I remember thinking, DAMN!!!! I hear about it on here all the time but was hoping, because a site like this, people only post when there is something wrong, so all these engines dieing isnt because it happens alot, but because when they do, people write about it. But then mine died and I was like DAM!!!!!
BUT!
Excellent service from the dealership (And this dealership I just dropped the car off there, I didnt buy it from there) it was just closest to where it broke-down. But this excellent service, and the fact that now my car is pretty well completely brand new. I am very very happy, and would recommend this car once again to someone. Not sure about the 04 auto's though, from what I hear! But I'm only going by rumour. But my car is a beaut. and I am excited that everything worked out so well for me!
I learned a valueable lesson from all of this though;
"It may not be the car or the brand of car you buy, but more importantly the dealership that is servicing it that really can make the difference in whether or not you'll stick around with them for your next purchase!"
And...
Cops really love this vehicle
I may go "low profile" with my next purchase, too much drama with this little beast!
Cheers guys

wait till your second engine blows and then see if you will recommend the car to anybody
BTW...you got lucky with the Service from Sunridge. They aren't known for good service.

I'm really glad that the dealership did not charge the OP, but it's still ridiculous how difficult and expensive it is to diagnose a bad engine. Can't they just do a compression and vacuum test first, and then maybe a decarbon, or maybe a decarbon first?
Cat converter, O2 sensor, engine mounts, spark plugs, wires, coils, $2300 intake manifold, and all that labor. Mazda got stuck with such a huge bill for not enforcing more strict diagnostic procedured.
