Engine Bay Cleaning Questions

Hey guys,

I have a stupid question . I have a K&N typhoon intake, I normally just hand clean my engine bay but after a few months of negligence, its beyond the hand cleaning.

My question is can I just spray it off like normal, the last time I powerwashed my engine was with my stock intake . Sorry for the simple question but I figured better safe then sorry. Is it okay to proceed like normal, or do I have to do anything specail having the intake? I dont want to suck water into my engine

Before my intake, I used to just spray it all, what electrics should I be covering?

Thanks guys, I read through the thread. I'm giving my 8 a good end of the season cleaning so it can sit shiny in the garage.
