I haven't seen or heard of any set option list yet. I'm sure at least a sunroof is in the cards though...

A convertible version might just cannibalize Miata sales.

won't even touch miata sales

The miata runs about $25K. An RX-8 starts right above there. Now add a conservative $4K for the convertable and you are at $31-$32K. No options. Also not in the same price range.

If the hypothetical RX-8 'vert follows the RX-7 'vert options pattern, it will come with everything as part of the 'vert package.
