Dealers still have 05's with options?

I've been looking for an Rx-8 with specific options, and its tough when you start tacking on each and every option...

I'd like it to be Silver, 6 speed, with Red and Black Interior. Grand Touring, Navigation would be nice. (Nav makes it even tougher!)
I've been checking out Ebay and the classifieds for a few months now, and only find Silver ones without 2 toned interior, or they are automatic...

Anyone know if some dealerships have 05's with all the options?

I wanted to go Used, but may do new if I have to and if I can find a great deal.
Any suggestions?

thanks, Shane

Big Bell automall in Phoenix, AZ had 4 or 5 fully loaded 8's. I think they had a red, black and 2 silvers.

Boy, you picked either a really popular or really un-popular combination. I was checking the Mazda National web site and yes, Silver GTs with black/red leather are rare. Add to that the NAV and forget it.

So you have a choice:

- Wait for the 2006s and get exactly what you want for a really big price
- Search for a used RX-8 with what you want. It will be a good deal but may take you some time
- Find a new 2005 GT with NAV and see if you can live with the interior/exterior color at a great price

Good luck!

Msrecant is right, I searched all over for that combination and a dealer said I'd have to pay a ton more for the custom combo. It's nice but extremely rare.

They may be hard to find, but I think it's worth it. I just found a 2005 White GT Black/red. It was one of only 6 left in US. I paid an extra $450 for my dealer to ship it in. With the end of year deals and rebates I ended up saving $4k over the invoice cost of a 2006, even with the shipping.

That's 4k in the bank to go with some type of FI in the future.

When I bought my dearly departed 2004 Tit Gray Black / Red GT I had a hard time finding it, but it was worth it. I went into the mazdausa site and kept putting in different cities so I could search in a 150 mile radius (I wish they'd let you do a broader search as an option). I found two - one in VA and one in OH - and was able to buy the one in OH at $100 over invoice in 9/04. I did a one way car rental and drove the RX home.

Short answer - worth finding the one you want vs. compromising!

Recommendation? Pass on the Nav - the RX8 is a great car to get lost in!!

I would rather just wait and find the car I want with the options.
Either Used or New 05.

Are there any loaded 05's left with red and black interior and Nav?
What do you think that would go for New once the 06's come out???

I've been visiting a lot of auto classified sites and online dealer inventories over the past 2 or 3 months and have never ran across this combination. I've found lots of Red/Red & black combos as well as yellow/ yellow & black combos. None of these had NAV either. Best bet is to buy new at a very high price or live without the Silver w/Red and black leather.

hmmm.... What do you suggest, I settle for something without NAV, or I look at Mazda6's?

My dealership said they don't stock them with navigation generally since there isn't as big a market for them in this area. They will gladly order them for you but they said when they first came out and they had some with navigation in them, those were the ones that sat on the lot compared to the ones without, so it was better financially for them to not really stock them with that option. If you really want that combination and don't want to wait too long or compromise, order an 06 with exactly what you want. If possible use Costco since that locks your price at $400 over invoice plus you can then get applicable discounts off that price. Won't be too bad then for a brand new, just come out 06. If you order now it would be about four months to get it.

If you can give up on the silver then it is a lot easier. Velocity red with black/red is a lot more popular. There is a 2005 VR GT/MT with black/red and nav in Hampton, VA I found in my first search at the Mazda USA site (I live in Richmond, VA). There are probably a lot more across the US.

I've tried autotrader a thousand times. You cant really specify keywords in a search. So its tough finding two toned Red and Black interior and Nav.
All I can find for sure is Silver or Red, or Manual if I specify that.

msrecant do you have the info on the red one with Nav?
Thanks for all the help,
Shane

you can do dealer search on mazdusa.com it's takes a while but it can be done. you may have to use different zip codes to search towns a little farther away. the other option is to walk into your dealer and them him exactaly what you want and make him find it. it's a lot eaiser for them to search inventory. I found mine in Kansa city, i live in indiana. It was much cheaper for me to fly to KS and drive home then to deal with the *** muncher dealers in my area. by the way, i saved about 4k over the best price locally and got exatly what i wanted.

Use the MazdaUSA web site searching for VR 2005 MTs that are within 150 miles of Richmond, VA. Casey Mazda is located in Newport News, VA. Do a YAHOO MAP serch to see its exact location.
