De-oxidize Headlights & Custom Button?

So, my headlights are pretty oxidized, is there a way to de-oxidize them without having to shave off some plastic on the inside? I have tried those home-use stuff, but it only lasts for very little.

Also, those buttons on the left of the steering wheel, the dimmer / DSC control, is there a pre-made / easy to install / buy to install a new button for w/e purpose I see necessary?

the easiest thing for the buttons is I pop out the dummy buttons (reach behind steering wheel and push out) and drilled a hole through to put in a button from radio shack. Costs like 3 bucks, and then you can wire it to whatever you see fit.

For the headlights, I use rubbing compound. That stuff works miracles. And it will always come right back if you dont put sealer on it.
