Are there upper and lower limits on the speeds the cruise control will hold? What's the highest cruise speed you've successfully set? Just curious.

yup me too. I know I tried setting it real low once. 1st gear creep but it wouldn't go. Not sure if it even works in 1st gear. But I've ran cruise at 20 or 25mph I know.

IIRC, the lowest I had it on was 15 or 19mph before it wouldn't let me engage it. I have an AT though, so there may be a difference.

yea, I believe 20 is the lowest. I dont think there's a highest. I set mine on 120 once, **cough* on a track.

Cruise will shut off at some engine load
I was going up a steep hill and it kicked off, probably at about 80%
So maybe the limit is load based?

I think the little RX-8 Guide Book that comes with the car says 30mph minimum.

Had this happen in an Altima rental car. If it couldn't maintain the speed going uphill, it'd just shut off.... It did that a lot. heh.

It works at 25 mph but you should never be on cruise at low speed as that's how you run over the neighborhood kid.

I am in the military, and on base there is a 15mph section, so the lowest ihave gotten my manual to is 17. I guess i havent tried first gear, which i will monday, but that is the lowest i have succeeded to set it to.

I can set it as low as 30mph and as high as 135mph, don't ask.
