Coolant light on for cold engine?

Hi everyone

I had to move my car in the driveway at 6AM because a family member doesn't know how to drive stick. I turned it on and drove it about 10 feet (very, very slight decline, barely noticeable).

I revved to 3.5 RPM for about 10 sec before shutting it off, as I have been told helps to avoid flooding. All of a sudden the coolant light popped on, out of no where! I haven't touched by car since 6 AM but I have to go to my second job soon.

Is this a fluke or a known issue? Should I check the coolant? Is the correct coolant described in the manual? I heard you can top it off with distilled water....?

Top the level off. Level should be at the seam on the side of the tank. It could be a bad coolant level sensor too. A known issue. But top it off and see what happens.

Probably just a tad low and the cold weather made it just fall below and trigger the sensor. I bet the light turns off when the car warms up and causes the level to rise slightly.

This has nothing to do with the light, but you needed to have let it warm up before revving and turning it off. Read the Quick tips booklet for the whole drill.

*THREAD JACK*

Had a dream a few nights ago where someone was in my car for some reason, moved it and then turned it off. I was freaking out at them turning off my car without warming it up, not the fact that "who is this and why are they in my car?"

So even if I have to move it 10 feet in the driveway I have to warm it up for 5 min? I will make sure I always park it with room to drop the e-brake and roll if necessary haha
