Clutch issue? Bad squeak outside of car question

Hello all,

I'm coming up on 35K miles and I will admit this is my first ever manual transmission. The car has been fantastic and I treat her with the utmost care and maintaince, however there is one issue I might be having but I dont have the experience to diagnose it.

After the usual driving when in park and after the engine is shut off, i release the clutch and about 60% of the way up from being fully released I get a BAD medium pitched squeak/groan. The slower I let the clutch out in this area the louder the noise is. Now I know there is a TSB for a squeaking clutch thing but this noise is more OUTSIDE the car coming from the underbody/transmission area. When windows are up and the door is shut you can still hear it but its not as loud.

Today sitting at a drive up window at a fast food place i noticed when in Neutral if I release the clutch I get more noise then usual, best described as a rough sounding scratch or grinding (barely audible)

My ultimate quesiton is what would some of you think the condition my clutch is in? I dont do burnout/doughnuts but I do drive it like I stole it most of the time. I havent noticed any oddities shifting or engaging the clutch though (feel, position, timing etc)

*IF* my clutch is going - im not THAT worried because I have plans to upgrade the flywheel/cluch quite soon anyway, I'm just kinda trying to get a feel for whats going on.

Thanks, all input is welcome.
Jeff

I have something similar - my car makes a quiet repetitive "squee squee squee squee squee" (pretty sure it's not a belt) noise when at idle. Then, when I engage my clutch it gets louder. I should be taking it in around 2 weeks from now, so hopefully I can let you know.

If it does that with the engine off, it may just be the clutch pedal linkage to the clutch master cylinder or it could be the pushrod at the end of the slave cylinder. A bit of grease/oil will fix it. Take it in to the dealer if you don't want to deal with it yourself. That's what a warranty is for, so use it.
