Question clutch decision help based off of others ownership..

my 2005 rx8 is do for a throwout bearing considering that it is making a decent squeak noise unless i press in the clutch and i might as well replace the clutch while i am at it since the transmission will need to come off..
im not an all knowing clutch master so no need to flame me for a little help needed..
i have done some searching and found that the exedy stage 1 clutch may suit me but i would like opinions on this particular clutch from personal usage.

or if you could help me as far as pricing on another (maybe better kit for the pricing)(or the same kit i already have thrown out there)

thanks!

I use that clutch in my Turboed 8 . I really don't see the need to upgrade the clutch for an NA car . The stock clutch is plenty strong enough and when you upgrade you have to make compromises . So unless you are drag/circuit racing - stick with the stock .

Just buy a Exedy Stage 1, it comes with almost everything(except pilot bearing seal), but it's cheap u can get it for like 2 bux, replace. Done.

I have the exedy clutch on my N/A. It has a different feel than the stock but not a bad one. I think it is easier to drive than stock.

I have a stage 1 exedy and it makes a **** ton of gear noise. Idk if it's my transmission oil that needs to be changed or just gear noise that I'm **** about.bu overall it's a good clutch. Definitely sturdy as hell!

I'm on the same "boat" I have the same annoying noise.. I have talked to a few people that have the Exedy Stage 1 clutch kit and they said that it is a nice upgrade pedal feeling is a bit harder since the pressure plate has a higher clamping force compare to OEM, but it is not difficult to drive or to kill your left leg in traffic.. hope you (we) can get more people giving us their two cents, I will replace my clutch in december

i keep hearing good feedback on the exedy stage one clutch. sounds like that is my choosing.this will be the first clutch and all that i will be replacing on my car. hope i dont hear all that transmisson noise. even though when im in sixth and one or two other gear i hear a high winding noise. not a grit your teeth bad sound but a normal type sound i guess? making sure im not the only one hearing this average sounding noise..

I hear that also, been like that through three clutches, hoping changing tranny fluid to Redline MT90 will fix that. My throwout bearing also "rattles" been doing that for 120,000 miles since i bought the car..

I agree. Why waste the money. Put it to something else.

Having a noisy throwout bearing doesn't mean you need to replace the clutch!

I would also go with OEM
