Cel normal after a de-flood?
So my car was just mildly flooded, I used to fuse removal method and it started up after a few cranks. I then drove it and got a flashing cel, it went away I went to the gym, came out car stared fine, but now I have a staying cel. Is this normal after a de-flood and will it go away?
And yes I searched this via search site:rx8club.com

A) A flashing CEL is ALWAYS a misfire
B) Misfires can be caused by a number of things, including ignition.
C) Flooding is a symptom, it only occurs if something has failed: battery, starter, compression, or ignition.
D) Deflooding only fixes the flood, you still have to fix what failed to cause the flood in the first place
So short story is that no, it's not normal to have a CEL after a flood, but it IS normal to get a CEL when you are severely misfiring, and if you are severely misfiring it is normal to flood.
Sounds like you have ignition failure, and need to replace coils, wires, and plugs.

If i'm not mistaken, i thought a flood could be caused by not properly letting the engine warm up in the cold and then immediately shutting off the engine?
My father moved my car in the garage when i went out of town for two days. When i came back it was flooded, it was also very cold when he did this and he said he forgot to let it get to operating temperature.

YES, you are correct, that is when a flood occurs. However you can start up the car and then shut it off cold WITHOUT flooding if your battery, starter, ignition, grounding, and engine are ALL healthy.
You will only flood when you shut off cold IF you have one or more in that list failing. Flooding is inherently a symptom of a problem, it is not the root problem itself.

if its flooded, it will sometimes have flashing CEL's or misfires when it does start, basically when you get the spark plugs wet, they don't fire, so you get misfire codes.
you should get the code read, and if its a misfire code, i'd replace the spark plugs, as they probably were not happy about the flooding, or were the reason for the flooding in the first place

Yep that's a lean code. Most likely from the misfires. Keep an eye on it. If it comes back check for vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks pre-primary 02 sensor. But I'm betting it won't come back after your misfires are taken care of.
