Take it out, All u need is a phillips Screwdriver, and a 10mm socket wrench to take the hidden bolt on the left hand side, you can reach it by going under the driver side.

ITs going to take a while tho, for 1st timer, maybe 1 hour or so to take it out.

You could also disconnect the battery power. This causes it to eject everything.

Im sure my friend.

Since I took my HeadUnit out and install After Market In-dash NAV.

Get the Service manual, follow the instructions and u'll be fine.

How do you disconnect the battery ? What do you think ?

Ahh fine I be nice, TAKE THE POSITIVE lead out, step on the brake to drain all power in the system. put the lead back on.

Just careful dont short it, if it explodes it will not be funny.

Do you have the 6 disc changer? or just the single disc unit?

I second pulling the negative battery cable for 10 minutes or so and seeing if that resets whatever is stuck.

when you try to eject a CD, does it make any noise? What happens when you press the eject button?

If you do decide to pull the head unit, you MUST disconnect the battery first, or you can fry your radio entirely.

From what I remember you should never connect the positive terminal last. Had to do with how the ions were around the terminal or some crap and how it was more likely to spark.

Open the hood of your car. Take off the cover on the battery, then use a wrench to loosen the nut on the side of the black cable. After a few turns you should be able to wiggle the connector free from the battery. This will hopefully reset the radio, and let you eject your CDs. Leave the cable disconnected for a couple minutes, then slide it back onto the battery terminal and tighten the nut again. replace the battery cover and close the hood.

Jump in your car and start it up. You will get a "DSC off" light, and a traction control light(car with squiggly tire marks) . This is NORMAL! turn your steering wheel from lock to lock (all the way to the left, then all the way back to the right), let the engine warm up to the point where the temperature gauge is starting to move (this is done to prevent engine flooding), then turn off the car and restart it. You should have no more warning lights, and hopefully you will be able to eject your CD's.

If that doesn't fix the problem, I'd recommend going to a dealership, or finding a shop that specializes in rotaries. better to pay some money and have someone who knows what they're doing take apart your dash then doing it yourself and breaking something.

Probably not your fault. Mine did the same thing. Common problem with this unit. More than likely reseting it won't do anything (but try this first). It will probably have to be replaced.

I got the same thing: make a nosie, says CD IN but won't eject play or shuffle any of them. All Mazda will do is try to reset it and if that doesn't work then they will simply replace the unit instead of fixing it. I even lost all 6 cd's that were in it.

Fortunately mine was under warranty so it didn't cost me anything. A few months back they were going for $85 on EBAY for a direct replacement. It will be just the actually changer unit that gets replaced - not the whole stereo. Most all of the modern Mazda in dash 6-disc changers were the same thing.

ask or do a searxh for the manual on line.

Get the manual that comes with the car.

You may be operating it in correctly.

after you determine that ypu operate it correctly and it is broken then buy one on ebay.

It will be the stock 6 player cd. Several of us have bought one.

Then go to DIY section. Read and re-read instructions on how to remove radio.

discinnect and begin replacing.

Of u can not do it. But the unit and have someone else do it. Print and show them the instructions.

Are u sure you have a 6 cd changer on a 2004. It was not stock. Only an option.
