Causes for engine damage

Hello,

I'm from Germany and own a red RX8, small engine with 192hp.

Since a few months i'm wondering why almost all motors with compressoin problems have problems on the rear rotor, not on the front rotor.

What is the problem with the rear rotor.

Why did so many eninges die under warranty time (I think well serviced) with mostly less than 80k km running. I've found so many entries on the internet about compression problems with Renesis engine with less than 80k km.

What can I do to protect my engine? Sohn OMP adapter was installed, oil pressure regulator was installed. Is there anythin else I can do?

I thank you so much for your replies.

Lack off and not maintaining the car as needed. Proper maintainance will make it last longer. To summarize it, take care of the car, and the car will take care of you.

Check out the New Owners thread in my signature. Post #9 has a list of reasons why our engine fails and what you can do about each one.

The rear rotor is typically the problem point because the coolant is hotter when it runs through the rear rotor (having just been heated by the front rotor) and the exhaust ports are hotter due to the exhaust from the front rotor.
