once i remove the plastic lens cover- there is just a hole. There is no burnt-out bulb or bulb housing. Just a hole.

I can tell the bulb is in there somewhere because i see light.... really annoying.

sounds like the bulb housing fell through. you'll have to remove your door panel to get to it.

i had to do this to install my puddle lamps, lemme see if there is an online manual to help you.

ha.. i am talking about both... my housing fell through... so I then tried to take the door panel off, and I got stuck on the step that required me to take apart that white block connector because it was IMPOSSIBLE to remove.

ok i know what youre talking about. can you post a picture? if not, try looking at the thing again. i remember thinking "well it should come apart at this joint here just like the others" except that it doesnt.

look for a plastic tab that you can gently push in with a small screwdriver. i swear those things are put together like that just to annoy us.

EDIT: you can download a pdf of the puddle light thing here i think the piece youre referring to is in step 14 on page 8

Go48... that second pic helped a little... what's a fastener remover, though? i used this mini crobar thing and i think i broke one of the clips- making an already rattly door even worse.

also, the plastic housing around the nice metal door latch thing is kinda loose now. any way to make it tighter??

i wonder if this can be fixed by warranty? i have no clue why this stupid light fell through anyway.

Go here for the fastener remover. Cost $11.90.

You probably should have had it fixed under warranty and saved yourself the grief. Live and learn I guess.
