Bummer

Well recently my idle has been real rough and i noticed a little bit of a lack of power so i order plugs but today when i went to go look at the motor mounts i realized my problem. Both the driver and passenger side mounts had sunk into themselves. My first question is does the renesis have any other motor mount locations i should check? Secondly, my car is a 05 and only has 47k on the clock so i still have my powertrain warranty, will this be covered? And finally will driving around with two busted mounts cause any damage to the engine or is it ok if i just baby her around until i can get some new mounts?

Thanks in advance

I believe there's a TSB on this so you might be covered? Maybe... I mean, it is Mazda...

I can't imagine any serious damage to the engine occurring with broken motor mounds if you're not racing it around, or driving it for long. Just get it fixed asap...and this should be under the powertrain, I'd imagine.

Well im not sure how long it has been like this. I always race my car around and 9k whenever i can, not to mention i drive it about 400-500 miles a week on the highway for work. I will try and get the car in tomorrow morning for it. I just want to make sure those are the only two mounts that normally go out correct?

Just got off the phone with my dealer and they are well aware of the problem and told me to bring it in first thing tomorrow morning and he will have the parts out and be ready to swap them out in about an hour or 2 at the latest and it will be covered .

I got back from my dealer earlier and when i went i told them "ive looked at both motor mounts and they are shot which is causing a rough idle and lack of power". They took my car and after about 2 hours i was like whats taking so long. I asked my service rep and he said they replaced both motor mounts which fixed the idle and to fix the lack of power they did the zoom cleaning (which i did last week on my own and got NO white smoke). So after doing the zoom clean and it not changing the power they gave me brand new plugs. I went in there thinking i was going to have a hard time getting the motor mounts under warranty but not only did they give me them under warranty they replaced parts i didnt even ask to replace free of charge. Im loving my dealership right now.

O and the car runs amazing right now. Motor mounts+new plugs= a noticeable difference, i probably put back 5-10hp into the car that i was losing.
