I broke the glove box damper and it's 13 bucks for the new piece.
Has anyone installed this themselves? Is it a hard install? I dont want to pay the dealer for install if it's easy to do.

After you broke it, did you have a look inside the glove compartment? It doesn't look like a hard install at all.
I haven't gotten my Air bag recall done, but I've had the glove box out to make sure I didn't have the right color tape and to check things out. Once the glove box is out, the damper is out in the open.
Can anyone give me a bit more detail on the broken glove box issue? I seem to recall a warning in a TSB about not breaking the glove box, but I forget which TSB.
I ask because my parking brake was repaired last month and the car was returned with a broken defroster button and a "floppy" glove box. Can I say with certainty that the mechanic broke the glove box fixing the hand brake? (He's admitted to breaking the defrost button already, but I didn't notice the glove box problem until recently.)
