Breaking in new RX-8

Hey guys, just got my RX-8...it's coming in next week. I was just wondering what the best way to break it in is? I want to keep this thing for a long time, so I want to treat it right. If anybody knows, please let me know. Thanks

John

To prevent flooding, you may want to redline it for 25 minutes before you shut it down.

isn't there some way to make it so that you have to take a quiz on the stickies/common topics and pass in order to post a new topic? -_-

I wouldn't worry about it -- you'd probably run out of gas before you got anywhere near 25 minutes

or rev the car at WOT for 90 secs, then dump the clutch WHILE holding down the brakes :

this will bed in your clutch AND brakes at the same time, as well as flush your blinker fluid and give your muffler bearings proper wear-in

[News Anchor/] And an unidentified man was killed in his driveway today when his car exploded after being redlined for 25 minutes. Witnesses say he was sitting in the drivers seat, and making satanic hand gestures when the car went up in flames. Film at eleven....

Be firm but gentle and whisper in its ear some. Let it get used to the saddle before you climb aboard and don't saw at the reins.

And just ignore those Brokeback Mountain jokes. They're just jealous of your special bond.
