At least your tint kept it from imploding.

Weed whacker, line trimmer, I'm sure there are many local variants of the term.

Here is the scoop.
Driving on local surface streets, at or below the posted speed limit, I turned left onto another street. This guy, a prisoner on road crew gang, was weed wacking on the right hand side of the road. He was near the pavement but not on it. Even so I swung wide of him, in the other lane, to go around. Just as I got even with him, BAM CRASH, the sound of breaking glass.
I pulled over and backed up to him and got out and told him that he broke my window. He said "No I didn't", I said "Are you arguing with me?", he said "No sir, but I didn't see anything".
So the supervisor is just sitting in his truck and finally gets out to see what is up, lazy bastard. And I tell him about it. So he starts yelling at this guy "G____AMN you , didn't I tell you to look out for cars? That's the third one in two days!"
Third one in two days? That is getting to be expensive cheep labor. :/
So I went to the Police station and filed a report. It is a good thing the mayor is a good friend of mine. Mazda is charging $200 for the window, $100 shipping from Japan, $200 for the install and tint. $500 bucks for this fiasco!!!!!!!!

I don't know about in Mississippi, but in FL window damage like that is 100% covered by your insurance company, there is no deductable, and they cannot raise your insurance rates over it.

Not a rant, but I'd personally rather the insurance company pay than costing tax payers.

It is not that way in Mississippi. Mostly states that have the potential for alot of snow and ice have that law due to rocks on the roadway.
