Any other owners in a wheelchair?
Hello, my name is Kristofer and I just bought a 2007 RX8 with 41,000 miles. I am in a wheelchair and specifically bought the RX8 because the back door allows me to get my wheelchair in the car easier.
I was wonderin if there ware any other users on here who has done the same? I will put up a video of me getting in the car as soon as I get it back from getting my hand controls installed.

Hi, Kristofer. Welcome to the club and the rotary world.
I've seen a couple of threads over the years from 8 owners who used wheelchairs. There was also a recent automatic-vs-manual thread where one of the posters (thread starter?) needed auto because he's paraplegic. See if you can get something out of the site's search function. If you're lucky, now that there are some keywords in the posts, some related threads might automatically appear at the bottom of this thread.

There is..I've forgot the thread..only thing I remember is he was driving a VR 8..
and oh yeah..there are some modification on the clutch and gas control..
I think the gas and clutch control almost the same with the motorcycle...
And the suicide door make it easier for the wheelchair to put at the back seat.

Voids warranties
We have a regular customer at our shop that is in a wheel chair and owns an 8. He does good and is happy. The rocker panel is pretty scuffed up though from years of loading/unloading his wheelchair in the back. Might wanna consider some protection for that before its too late

thanks guys! No worries monchie, I tell people all the time that cant believe I still ride a sportbike, not just that I can, but that I choose to considering thats how I was paralyzed. Search Youtube for 'Kris Reckner' and check out my videos of me mounting and riding my 2008 R6 without any help from others.
And yes I chose the 8 because of the rear doors, I actually owned a 2001 Celica I customized before I owned this that I used to load and unload my chair from and having the space to get the chair through will make it more comfortable. And good looking out with the comment on the sides getting scratched. The Celica had Lamborghini pait that cost $400/quart, so I had thought of that prior and bought some thick vinyl to drape in front of the side skirt when loading and unloading. I have a video of me getting in my Celica, I gotta get on loading that up to youtube, when I do Ill def let you guys know.
Any users in the Albany, NY area?
