What does this part do?

What does this part do?

It's located on the intake system just behind the accordion folds and in front of the throttle body.

resonator box for the intake. Designed to help the harmonics of the intake air.

It has to do with the harmonics on the intake. I forget what it is called exactly.

That holds the metal bits that are programmed to spit into the intake at 80k miles and ruin the engine.

It's actually to tune the intake pipe so that it gives the maximum pressure at given air speed.
It's like a port on a speaker box tune to amplify the output of a certain frequency.
