Am I getting the run around?

Am I getting the run around?
Hey all,
I wasn't sure where to post this but here it goes:
I recently ordered some small parts from a vendor on this site (not going to name names at this point). I made the order, totalling $190USD, on June 11th, 2010 with instructions to ship to my address in Canada. After waiting for my items for a couple weeks I contacted the vendor to clarify that he had shipped. He said that he sent the items out with USPS on June 17th, 2010. I waited a few more days and contacted him again to request a tracking number. He gave me the number and when I ran it at USPS it said:
Service(s): International Letter
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on June 14, 2010 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. No further information is available for this item.
So my understanding of this would be that he still hasn't given the package to USPS to ship. When I questioned him about this he said that he definately shipped the parts and that he would contact USPS to find out what is going on. I haven't heard from him in a few days and I am still waiting for my parts over a month after ordering and the USPS tracking still says he hasn't given them the package.
Is it common for USPS to do this or am I getting the run around from this vendor?

Ive had items delivered to my house before, and go check their website and says "USPS has been notified of a shipment" lol. Their tracking website is horrible. As far as your item goes, Id shoot your vendor another email asking if hes got info on what happened. Good luck

You never know with USPS. I ordered something a couple of years ago. The tracking showed it going back and forth between Phoenix, AZ and Toledo, OH. It kept on for a couple of months. I finally contacted the vendor and they sent me another one. A couple of months later, the original showed up. In that case, I was able to see the problem with USPS tracking. USPS seemed powerless to end the loop. I could show them the problem, but it took them a few months to finally deliver it.

^agreed to all
usps tracking is absolutely pointless
but
it shouldn't take over a month to get to you. contact the vendor immediately or post a bad guy: thread.
ps - darkbrew...i did the same thing; i was like, it's been a day, calm down. months confuse me
