Reassured

Well this is probably an oddball place for my first post, but I nearly jumped out of my chair when I saw this stickied at the top of the forum. I have been pondering buying an '04 8 for about a month now (woot upgrade from a 99 civic), and I've probably driven the dealer absolutely mad with warranty questions. Now that there is some backing by Mazda im very reassured that I wont be black-balled and will probably put into motion the purchase.

Zoom-Zoom, am I right?

Icarus, it's not 100% confirmed yet. Hang tight and lets see what shakes out over the next few days.

Ah I see, thanks silver. Though it is still reassuring that something is in the works, and even if it is 8yr/80k mi. (according to fahrfegneugen's confirmation, unless s/he is joking for some reason) thats fine by me. Irony would have it that its a silver 2k4 MT with only 30k mi, sweet deal at $14k, lets hope the conicidence doesnt turn out too good to be true.

Is not a bad thing hahaha Even tho Im sure my engine can go longer than 100K miles.

I already emailed them, read my post on the second page. This is true.

Maybe I should go back to 5w 20 and have the engine fail, get a new one and take care of that one, cause I got the car used

I would suspect it may end up being 8yr/80,000 mile.

Simply because most warranties tend to be a simple 6/60,000, or 8/80,000, so 8/100,000 seems out of whack.

I hope I am wrong.

Psh.

Just don't flood your engine guys, that doesn't count under powertrain. Mazda will still be cheap in this regard.

I got an 8yr 100,000 mile powertrain warranty when I purchased my '04 8. It was Mazda Certified.

I hope I get reimbursed a little. That warranty is built into the price of a certified car.

Besides that, I think this is outstanding news and very welcome!!

Im sure it could.

I think Mazda is trying to tell the world that *Our engines will not blow, we will show you by backing it with our Warranty !*

consider Rotary engine is Mazda's company image. They are just doing the right thing.
